The tangram is a dissection puzzle consisting of seven flat polygons called tans, which are put together
to form various shapes. The objective is to replicate a pattern generally found in a puzzle book using all
seven pieces without overlapping. There are countless different shapes that can be created using the
seven tangram tiles. The tangram puzzle is very interesting, because there are thousands of figures and
shapes that can be designed using tans. The students of Class 8 A of Mount Carmel School Mohali were
encouraged to participate in a Maths Tangram Activity. The students used their imagination and created
various shapes like rockets, houses, animals , boats,etc. and enjoyed the activity.
