The Eco Club and Heritage Club of Mount  Carmel School , Sector -69, Mohali celebrated ‘The World Earth Day’ in the school to bring an awareness among the students about the importance of plants for the existence of life on the earth .The school Principal Mrs. Ruth Thomas, teachers and students planted medicinal plants in the school premises.

The students spoke about the benefits of these medicinal plants like Jamun, Amla, Tulsi etc. While planting the Amla plant the students pointed out that it’s an excellent source of vitamin C and prevents cancer due to the presence of some important polyphenols and that it is diuretic in nature. The teachers encouraged the students to plant more and more trees to save our mother earth.
